Installation direction of a solid, non-ventilated brake disc: The discs must be installed so that the edge of the grooves closest to the outer edge of the disc makes contact with the brake pad first.

Description

Advantages of drilled and slotted discs:

  • Compatible with competition brake pads (AVP4485) and standard brake pads (AVP4402 or AVP4403).
  • These brake discs have holes that promote heat dissipation and channels (slots) that allow the pads to be cleaned/dust removed with each braking action.
  • The slots also act as wear indicators. When a slot disappears completely, it means the disc is too worn to guarantee safe and effective braking and it's time to replace it.

Disadvantages of discs Drilled and grooved:

  • Faster brake pad wear
  • Microcracks due to wear or use may form between the disc holes.
  • Over time, a slight noise or whistling sound may appear.
